Smita Hyde was in nursing school when she discovered Girls Develop IT, a nonprofit organization focused on helping women achieve their technology goals. Once Smita took an interest in the organization, she fell in love with coding and technology.
From Nursing School to Coding School
After being involved with Girls Develop IT, Smit realized that becoming a nurse wasn’t really for her. But, not knowing how to get the training she needed or where to turn to for a future in technology, she sought more resources. That’s when she connected with EmployUp and started taking career courses.
What’s next for Smita?
The Guggenheim Grant recipient is hopeful to find a job in which the team and managers support her new abilities and willingness to learn new things. Smita is dedicated to getting the job done and willing to go above and beyond whenever she can.
