Radius Partner Spotlight

Radius Partner Spotlight

December 7, 2020

Here at Eleven Fifty, our relationship with students never ends with graduation. Our Career Services team works one-on-one with students to identify their career goals, specific strengths in coding, areas of passion, and other vital information. This lets us support them in a career they love throughout their professional lifetime. This comes as they depart our highly-motivated learning environment where students acquire everything they need to know to succeed in web development, app or software development, cybersecurity, and beyond.

Our educational programming and career services support would not be possible without so many partnerships that Eleven Fifty appreciates and treasures. We and our students are supported by a wide array of community organizers, educators, financial donors, educators, and hiring partners. These partnerships are mutually beneficial due to Eleven Fifty’s commitment to strengthening the tech talent pipeline by serving career seekers and career changers. We extend our endless gratitude to all of our partners. Today, we’d like to introduce you to….

Radius Indiana

Radius Indiana is a regional partnership between eight of Indiana’s southwest counties, including Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Orange, and Washington Counties. Radius is committed to advancing employment, investment, and quality of life in its region by helping all these counties work together. To achieve its mission, Radius leverages benefits like Indiana’s interstate connectivity, low cost of living, and the fact that Martin Counts has the 4th highest concentration of STEM professionals in the nation. These are just some of the regional benefits that Radius seeks to highlight and expand on. Another includes the Westgate@Crane Technology Park.

The Westgate@Crane Technology Park is a high-tech campus and coworking space, adjacent to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (MSWC Crane). MSWC Crane is the third largest naval installation in the world. It  was founded as an ammunition supply point 70 years ago, but has since evolved into a training and innovation facility, providing the Department of Defense with high-tech solutions that are in service across the globe.

Less than a mile from the base, Westgate@Crane Technology Park was established in 2005, with the first residents breaking ground in 2006. Since then, more than 30 businesses from small startups to Fortune 500 companies have made the most of this “miracle in a cornfield” to create jobs, prosperity, and partnerships.

In early 2020, Eleven Fifty Academy was honored to be included among these partners. Radius Indiana committed $120,000 to help Eleven Fifty expand our Cybersecurity Bootcamp to a physical location on the Westgate@Crane Campus. In this bootcamp, students develop skills to defend against common and emerging security threats, including real-time training on our cyber range. At the end of the cybersecurity bootcamp, students emerge work-ready with two renowned certifications, Security+ (SEC+) and Network+ (NET+).

Eleven Fifty Academy is  honored to help Radius grow the necessary cybersecurity workforce in this eight-county region. Virtual bootcamps help job seekers grow their skills and get prepared for cybersecurity roles just as well as in-person learning. Working with incredible visionaries and fellow hard workers like the team at Radius Indiana helps us all get closer to the goal faster.
